ALLEGED MURDER
DEATH OF LITTLE GIRL MAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL MELBOURNE, Dee. 30. The coroner inquired into the death of Mona Griffiths, 12, who was outraged and murdered at Ormond, on November 10. After hearing evidence he committed Robert McMahon for trial on a charge of murder. Detectives, with little to help them, arrested McMahon in Sydney. He is an ordinary tramp of rugged appearance, and is a laborer. A blood-stained' shirt .was found in his swag. Two women witnesses, also one man, identified McMahon as the man who escorted '.two children from the public park oh November 9, one of whom, Mena Griffiths, is now dead. The girl’s mother made a dramatic scene at the conclusion of her evidence, shouting several times: “Let me get at him.” She was assisted from the court in a state of collapse.
