Describing the hardships, Kaye mentioned that the most serious delay was when, by mere hick, after Hying in a fog, l hev landed on an uninhabited island in P.urma. with a damaged engine. They bad to fight their way through the jungle to find natives to ferry them across to Akyab. Then there was three weeks spent, in repairing the engine.
