NEW CONVENT
MR. SMITH'S TENDER ACCEPTED Mr. Geo Smith's tender of £6858 was .accepted from the eight received on Saturday for the erection of St. Joseph's Convent on the property adjoining the new Catholic school irl Childers road. The building, which will have a frontage to Boebuck road, will be constructed on lines in keeping with St. Mary's school, for which Mr. Smith was also the successful tenderer. Messrs Burr and Mirfield are the architects. lite eight tenders were: Mr. Geo. Smith, £6858; Mr. J. Webb, £7100; .Messrs. Webster and Craili, £7300; Messrs. Sheer- and Stevens, £7435; Mr. A. E. Kirk. £7444: Mr. J. Howell. £7670: Mr. F. Goodman, £8087; and Mr. J. Collev. £8273.
