ENTHUSIASTIC FAREWELL DINNER IN LONDON LONDON, April 11. t Three hundred guests attended the New Zealand Association’s dinner at the Savoy Hotel to farewell the British Rugoy team. Among distinguished guests were tile Duke of York, Lords itassfield, Liverpool, Dewborough, and .imptiiill ; Sir Charles Eergusson, Sir .lames Parr, and Sir James Mills. Responding to the toast of the “Royal family,” the Duke of York wittily referred to his visit in New Zealand. He said: “The time spent left lasting admiration for its achievements and potentialities. 1 assure sportsmen that New Zealand affords all-round scope. I sampled several sports, but was not allowed to stay long enough to witness a cricket match (at which there was prolonged laughter). You will find New Zealanders as determined hosts as they are players. I envy you your trip and wish you good luck.”

Air. T. AT. Wilford read bon voyage messages from the King, Sir Joseph Ward, the manager of the All Blacks, and the New Zealand Rugby Union, and advised the team to beware of matrimony. “But,” lie added, “if the ladies are irresistible, then become New Zealand citizens, and do not bring your brides to Britain,”
