INTER-SCIIOOL MATCH I’upils of St. Winifred’s School and of the High School met. in an interesting match on Wednesday on the former school’s courts, and the match resulted in a victory for St. Winifred’s. The players representing both schools were in good form, and several close and interesting games were witnessed. Unfortunately, a shower of rain somewhat damped the courts, but play was resumed when the rain ceased. Afternoon tea was served in the pavilion. A return match will be played on the courts at the High School girls’ hostel on Tuesday. Following are the results, High School players being mentioned first in each case:— Singles: E. Benson defeated M, Morris, 2t>—-24; .1. Arthur lost to N. Bruce, 23—23; .7. Reed defeated .1, McDonald, 28—2t>; R. Stevenson defeated ,1. I tods, 23—IS; D. Larsen lost to L. Matheson, Hi—2s; N. Leo lost tu M. Reed, 20—23. Doubles: E. Benson and J. Arthur lost to M. Morris and N. Bruce, 22—30; ,1. Reed and It. Stevenson defeated .7. McDonald and J. Bods, 32 —30; 1). Larsen and A’. Lee lost to L. Matheson and -N. Reed, 28—30.
