.■it the .monthly meeting of the Wairoa County Council there were present (Ts. W. J. Hill, acting-chairman, A. T. Cm roll, S. D. Dickie, W. Tait, K. B. Crombie, and F. 11. Norris.

The council went into committee or tiie matter of tenders, with the following results: Erecting small bridge arm installing culvert and filling, Grepet, road, no tenders were sent in. and the let ling of the work was left in the hand: of the engineer; forming 76 chain: Tahaenui,, road, three, .tenders were re reived, and that of Mr. A. Smith wa: accepted.; forming 121 chains of Nga motu road, seven tenders were received and that of Air. A. K'cllington was ac cepted; forming 43 chains of Wailni; Valley road, five tenders were receive! and that of Mr. P. Rugsted was ac cepted. The. Valuation Department,. Gisborne, forwarded for inspection revised yalua tiort rolls of the county, except lor tin Waiaii! and Mohaka ridings. The Napici District Highways Council forwarded ; copy of a circular from the Main High ways Board asking for recommendation: for the declaration of additional mail highways. The matter was left to tin chairman and engineer.
