CAN TAKE LARGE VESSELS (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, tins day. At Die, Harbor Board meeting this morning reference was made to; rumors circulating recently in South Taranaki that tlm port of, Now Plymouth. could not aojoinmodate jf^se.larger vessels trading Jo the Dominion and t hat consequently it was necessary to send dairy produce cpastu'jse to Wellington. The harbormijster, Capt.. W- Waller, reported. Unit the recent line weather bad rendered possible very extensive soundpigs. The oceap ran practically to the wharves without a channel or bar, and no current was produced by the tides. Tho chairman said it was vqry gratifying that tlio fairway was lOCfi'ft wide, with a minimum depth of 24ft at low water.
