MR. F. W. RIACH HONORED vYOGLBROKERS’ PRESENTATION In recognition of his long-standing membership of the organisation, the Gisborne Wooibrokers’ Association yesterday honored Mr. F. W. Riaeh with a presentation of plate, to mark the close of his work with the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Meat and Mercantile Co., which, firm lie has represented on the association for several years. Pleasant memories of the earlier years of the association were revived, and Mr Riaeh s energy and enthusiasm throughout Ins connection with the woolbroking business in this district were made the subject of happy references by several of tiis colleagues. Thu gathering was presided over by Mr. C. O. Hansen, who carried out the presentation and accompanied the gift witli an assurance of the esteem in which Mr. Riaeh is held in the business and social life of Gisborne. As far as their own organisation was concerned, stated Mr. liansea, the departure of Mr. Riaclr would be regretted exceedingly, and would make a distinct breach in what had been a very happy family. The highest integrity and business ability was well exemplified by their guest, continued Mr. Hansen; none of those with whom he had done business could fail to recognise these qualities, which made it a great pleasure to be associated with Mr. Riaeh. The members of the Wooibrokers’ Association would regret sincerely the departure of Mr. and Mrs. Riaeh from the district, and would tender best wishes for their good health and good fortune wherever their future might lie. The president’s remarks were warmly endorsed by Messrs. J. B. Kells, M. L. Foster, L. Miles, J. J. Heasley, C. H. Cato and A. F. Salmon, and also* by Mr. W. Hamilton Irvine, secretary of the association. Mr. Riaeh replied feelingly, stating that his recollections of his days as a member of the Gisborne Wooibrokers’ Association, and of the personalities of the members of that body, would always be of the pleasantest. On behalf of Mrs. Riaeh, he also acknowledged their good wishes.
