SHIPPING IN DISTRESS FLOODS IN MAURITIUS (Received Dec. 31, 2 p.m.) CAPETOWN, Dec. 30. Furious storms lashed the coast during the week-end. The Sutton Hall, carrying 100 live cattle, wirelessed that she was returning with the cattle stalls broken. A large fishing boat with a crew of four is missing, and it is feared that it has ibeen lost. The mail steamer has not called at Mossel Bay, bringing on the passengers and cargo. Rain at, Mauritius terminated in a thunderstorm. Port Louis was plunged into darkness owing to a flooded power station. The water was Bft. deep in some of the houses, sweeping the contents of the streets to the sea. The town to-day was a scene of pitiful desolation.
