Mr. I. Andrew, of Iliccarton, has been appointed lecturer in sheep management at the Massey Agricultural College, Palmerstoii North ,and will leave Christc.hureh early in January. Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M., is leaving at the end of January on a, World's tour. During his absence his place.' on the Magisterial Bench in Wellington will be taken by Mr. Woodward, S.M., who has been relieving at Invercargill. Owing to a slight indisposition of the Governor-General -Sir Charles For gusson, his departure with Lady Alice Fergussoii from Wellington on Sunday night for a farewell visit to Auckland had to be postponed. Mr. A. 0. Keating, who was supervisor of the Gisborfie telegraph office foUr and a half years ago, and is now senior supervisor in Wellington, _is paying a brief holiday visit to Gisbornc. Mr. Keating, 'who is accompanied by his son and daughter, leave? tor Auckland to-morrow. T-ho Rev. Thomas G. Brooke, one of the best-known members of the Methodist Church in ~ New Zealand, celebrated hi* eightieth birthday in Auckland yesterday. For 44 years, until his retirement in 1924, he served in the active ministry of the church, and his Work took him to every part of the Dominion. He still enjoys excellent health.
