World's Biggest Abattoir
The foundation stone of I/iverpool's abattoir, which will cost over £600,000, and Which, with the new cattle market, will cover 17 acres, was laid recently. It is claimed that the abattoir will be the largest in the world. In a day of 10 hours it will be able to deal with 540 cattle, 450 calves, 3700 sheep and 1000 pigs. Adjoining it will be a meat market.
