COLOR FILMS
A LABORATORY FOR LONDON NEW YORK, Nov. 9. Motion pictures in natural colors will soon displace black-and-white photography almost entirely, according to the prediction of Dr. Herbert Kalmus, president of Technicolor Incorporated. He sails for Europe to-morrow to negotiate for the construction of two color-film laboratories, one of which will be in London. Colored photography has already revolutionised cinema production at Hollywood, Dr. Kalmus said, and it is only a matter of a few years before the black-and-white photo-play will be" as rare as a silent picture is to-day Europe's demand for colored films is steadily increasing, according to Dr. Kalmus. The proposed laboratories in England and on the Continent will be a boon to 'the great motion picture audiences of America, because they will bring the beauty spots of Europe, such as the English countryside, Lake Killarney, picturesque Basque villages, Rome, .Florence, and Venice in all tl'ioir beauty to American screens.
