WOOL RESEARCH
MUCH WORK NECESSAKY APPEAL TO PRODUCERS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Dec. 27, 10 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 24. The report of the British Research Association of tho woollen and worsted industries suggests that Dominion wool producers should contribute £25,G00 towards research work, which should be directed to standardisation, the best quality, and aiding tho marketing ot wool, the superiority of which as a textile is undeniable. Special investigations were needed under three heads, firstly the development of new processes and methods ot manipulation j secondly, experiments on nutrition, as these have already shown the 'possibility of the production of mutton and tine wool on the same sheep, and thirdly, research into the scientific and health value of wool fibres. The investigation is limited by financial resources. The Research Association, which is now spending over £25,000 a year, therefore suggests that the producing side of the industry should contribute an equivalent amount.
