NEW DESIGN WANTED
TRADEMARK FOR N.Z. GOODS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. Success has not attended tho attempt of tho New Zealand Maufacturers’ Federation to obtain a national trade mark .which might be used on New Zealandmade goods of all descriptions. Competitive designs were invited and a special design was chosen to enable tho purchasing public readily to distinguish Dominion-made goods. Now, however, it has been found that tho design chosen, partly by reason of its size, is not suitable for certain metals and for some forms of clothing. Therefore, the matter is to be left over until the presidents of the four manufacturers’ associations meet in Wellington on October 24. At that meeting a. new design, and one more suitable, will be sought.
