AUCKLAND TRAINING NOTES The light-weight, \Y. 11. Jones, who has been riding in Australia for some time, returned to Auckland on Monday, and is again installed at Ellerslie. Ho may be Vallar’s rider in the Easter Handicap. W. McKinnon readied Ellerslie on Wednesday with his St. Legcr candidate Toxcuma,• which looks very well after his racing at Trentham. Tho course proper was open at Ellerslie on Thursday, with the trestles 42ft out. and the track was perfect, although slow after the rain.

Gold Money, goiiig particularly well, ran away from Eager Rose over a round in 2miii 11 see. King Emerald joined in over the last seven, and finished with Gold Money, taking Iniin 36 l-ssee. Brampton and Pekatahi ran six furlongs in 1 milt 24 4-ssee. Brampton should race well at Tauranga on Saturday.

Vallar (W. H. Jones) led Corinax (Oammick) over a mile in lmin 46 l-ssec( Corinax was almost on terms at the finish, but Vallar could have left his companion early. Both horses went in splendid style. Gemlight and Praetor were not pushed to run half a mile in 53 2-ssec.

On No. 2 grass, Hyde Park ran a circuit, the last six in lmin 25 l-ssee. He was not extended, but looks very bright and well.

Bulolo easily went six furlongs in lmin 19 l-ssee. This is one. of the best hacks at Ellerslie.

Stand fast could have improved on lmin 8 l-sscc for five furlongs. Kawini came down from Manuweia to school. He cleared fewr hurdles in fine, style, and strode over six furlongs on the course proper. He is already in favor for the Brighton Hurdles. Beau Cavalier was sent twice over the steeplechase fences in the centre, lie slipped into-the sod wall but extricated himself very cleverly, otherwise his display was a treat to witness! Sulla and Clockwork separately jumped two hurdles well, and then sprinted.

Lido, which has had knee trouble, is again in work, under M. Ryan.

Tho two-year old Gay Ballerina, who beat Reremoana in tho North Island Challenge Stakes at Trentham last Saturday. has been sold by Mr. W. G. Stead to the Sydney sportsman, Mr. H. Kirkpatrick, "for 2000 guineas.
