TREATMENT OP CANCER RADIUM AND X-RAYS (Times Cables.i LONDON, Feb. 9. The Times' Munich correspondent states tlint an important- announcement in connection with the radiological treatment of gynaecological cancer is contained in a report presented to the League of Nations Cancer Committee by Professors Diederlein and Volt/,, who arc members of the committee and chiefs of the Munich gynaecological hospital. They state that they have treated 4000 cases of cancer in lo years by a combination of radium and X-rays. They declare that ■surgical operations arc now obsolete. From 14 to 20 per cent, of cases are cured—that is, they are remaining free from the disease for five years. These had previously been declared hopeless.
