MUSIC IN VILLAGES

NEW YORK, May 5. A campaign to carry music to small towns will he promoted throughout the United States, it is announced by the Playground and Recreation Association of America. The organisation plans to open greater musical opportunities to the 52,000,000 persons Avho live in towns of 2500 population or less and who, in many cases, have had no musical education and are unable to read even the simplest music. Large towns and cities will be urged to reach out into the country with their musical resources, holding? annual musical festival's in which rural groups, as well as others, may compete. j
