Masterton Gun Club's Carnival
The Masterton Gun Club's carnival opened at the Solway showgrounds yesterday, there being a large gathering of prominent shots from all parts of the Dominion. The club's £IOO open clay bird handicap was divided by Douglas McLachlau (Masterton), R. B. McElwrick (Timaru), and L Bird (Kimbolton), who broke all 21 birds. McElwriek was in great form, not once having to call on his second barrel. Seven others broke 20 birds. The New Zealand day championship will be decided to-mor-row, and the New Zealand live pigeon championship on Monday.—P.A.
