DEATH BY POISONING (Per Press Association.) INYERCARGILL. this day. Samuel Wilson, farmer, of Clifton, was found dead yesterday, death being allegedly due to poisoning. He was a returned soldier anil a married man. MARRIED WOMAN'S DEATH AUCKLAND, this day.
An inquest concerning the death in Auckland Hospital on Tuesday of Janet Matthews, 55, a married woman, of Halesowen Avenue. Edondale, was opened before Mr. W. R. MeKcen, SAL, yesterday.
Evidence was given by a. son of deceased, that she was living apart from her husband. On June 17 she. attempted to commit suicide by cutting her throat. She, had been depressed for some time. Dr. P. P. Leonard said deceased's deafh was not due to the wound in her throat, but she had worn herself out with worry and depression. The coroner ordered that a post. mortem examination should be made and the inquest was adjourned.
