Sister Upset t,, who for 74 years has been a member of the stall ot the Cook Hospital, is leaving Gisborne about July 4 for Wairoa. Rev. W. J. Uxbrow, who for several years has been in charge of the Hawera Methodist circuit, has accepted a call to Hastings, and will take over his new duties in April, 1928. Mr. T. P. Fotheringham, manager ol the Union Bank of Australia at Tolaga Bay, has been advised of his promotion as ‘manager of the securities department at head office, Wellington. Mr. R. <■-. Beeby, M.A., who lias reI cently been appointed lecturer in exI perimental psychology at Canterbury ! College, will return to New Zealand I shortly to take up his duties. Cabled advice has been received from London that Mr. Beeby has obtained the degree o£ Doctor of Philosophy. About two vears ago Mr. Beeby assisted Professor J. Shelley at Canterbury College in developing experimental psychology. He then left for England to undertake research work in the subject. He studied under Professor Pear in Manchester, and Professor Spearman in London, gaining his degree in Manchester.
