The report- of the Council of the Trade Union Congress on the long-deferred inquest on the general strike is to be presented to a, .special coiih ran c of t>xu entires affiliated to the unions to be field on January 20.
The report ha.s been issued to the delegates as a confident ed document, to be published on tlie (lav of the conference. It, is understood it consists of two section--. The first summarises the mining d'-pule .and (lie course ot events up to the terminal ion ni the general stl ike, ,-md explains the Council's motive in calling off the general strike. It repudiates "certain statements in the last mentioned umnection.
The second section deals with subsequent events to the end of November, including the Trade Union Congress’ mediation efforts, commenting outspokenly on the mining dispute, and defending the Trade. I'ninn Congress’ alliHide towards it.
