ENGLISH BETTING TAX CHARGE ON BETTORS (Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association.) LONDON. Sept. 7. How the hotting lax is to be passed en has been decided by the Turf Guardian Society, which has resolved to charge clients three and n hall' per cent, upon their gross winnings and throe and <i half on the stakes invested to produce those winnings. The proposer said the bookmakers were anxious to retain their clients' goodwill and therefore were paying a part of the tax themselves.
