Wilkinson, of Drummoyne, recalls the bank hold-up at Grenfell in 1901, when Mr. Wilkinson, who was then manager of the Bank of New South Wales at Grenfell, was shot through the right lung whilst struggling with an assailant, who held up the bank. Mr. Wilkinson recovered, but his health was permanently impaired. At the time of his death he had almost completed 50 years’ scrvico in the bank. ’ His assailant- was never traced.
