MEMORANDA.
The Commissioner of Taxes draws the attention of taxpayers to the notification appearing in to-day’s issue that 11 to due date of payment of land-tax for the current year is on Friday, tiic 6th day of November, 1925. and that the demands will be posted on or about the 30th day of October.
South African Veterans will be expected to turn out in strength to-night, to attend the annual general meeting in the Liberty Hall. Ex-members of. the Imperial Forces arc invited to be present. Important- business pertaining to their welfare will come up for ‘discussion.
Captain P. Robertson, manager of the motor department of Messrs Williams and Kettle, Hastings, the Hawke’s Bay and Poverty Bay distributors of the famous Wiliys-Iviiight cars, arrived in Gisborne last night with three of the latest models of six and four cylinder motors. He (will be in attendance at the show at the stand of the agents, the Gisborne Garage. Among file latest cars showing at thp stand of I lie Gisborne Garage is a “si,might-eight’’ Itnp mobile, which, it is claimed, will cause a sensation among motorists.
