A COUNCIL’S JURISDICTION
REVOKED
(Per Press Association.) T** WELLINGTON, last night.
The Highways Board notified the Waikato County Council that it bad revoked the Cbauibl’s jurisdiction over’a po-yltTb of the Great South road between G will and Taupiri. Notification wasftflL ready sent that this would bo the road were not satisfactorily repaired. The Board instructed the engineer to carry out the work- Two-thirds of the cost will lie charged to tlio county. This is the first time tlio Board has exercised' these powers.
