Manutiike had to accept'defeat, from i less experienced- team. Who. though not so spectacular, played a hard game. Play worked up and down the field, both iides attacking alternately, but neither side was brilliant in the circle. The defence was fairly'sound, especially Rovers. The first spe'il ended in no score, though, several opportunities were missed by both sides. Soon after the opening of the iccond spell, a concerted attack by Hovers mded in Miss McKay scoring. Manutiike then made desperate attempts to equalise, but Hie stubborn defence of Royers kepi them out. There was no further score. The finest player on the ground was Miss I. Robb, whose sterling defence won the match for her side. The. pick of the Rovers’ forwards werg Misses McKay. M. Johnstone and Roberts. Mn mi Hike lid not show the combination of which they are capable, though they worked hard. Misses Hepburn, 0. Wh'aitiri and Hale were the most prominent forwards, and Mrs. Carnegie and Miss Brown in the backs. The game concluded with : Rovers 1. Mnnutuke 0. Mr. Henderson .ably refereed.

MAH AKI A (3) DEFEAT MI’RTWAT (1). Notwithstanding that it was the third successive day of the tournament, the players in these two teams did not slacken up in their play. For a brief spell the Muriwai team were having the best of the game, and Miss Faucholle scored. Mnhaki then settled down to business, and soon equalised, Mrs. Thompson finding the net. Tn the second spell both teams made the pace, and each made great efforts; hut the combined play of Mnhaki proved too superior, and they ■egistored two more goals. Muriwai relied too much in the second spell on individual dt’nris. which were easily smothered. Their star performers were Misses Fan•belle, M. Marcussen and Renata, in the forwards, and Miss Hill, in the half-line. Tlie winning team’s forwards all played well, and Hie hacks pul up a fiplendid defence. The game concluded with Mnhaki 3 and 1 Muriwai 1. thus leaving Mnhaki winners of the llaapu rose howl. Messrs. •(). It. Olsen and Cassia gave every satisfaction as referees.
