COMPETITIONS.
(To the Editor of the. Herald.) Sir, — Having read with interest the letter in ..last night’s Herald re Competitions, I'heartily endorse “Wellwisher’s” remarks tn regard to the 24 hour study test, more especially as it is included ,n the championship. Gisborne, 1 notice, lets the highest standard, i.e., 64 per cent.'of the possible! points, whilst Wellington, the principal competition society .n the Dominion, demands only 60 per cut. of points for its championship. This “memory test” undoubtedly must handicap most- severely the leading competitors, as they probably will he rcalled at Hie evening sessions, and therefore will not lyive the time at their dismsal, which the unsuccessful competitors will have, for memorising. Tlie eonvinittee must- recognise that, the bracketing of the memory test- with “Evonne” does not give all competitors an equal chance. —I am, vottrs etc., ENTHUSIAST.
