QUEENSLAND PREMIER.
MR THEODORE'S ENTRY' INTO
FEDERAL FIELD
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received May 8, 3 p.m.) LONDON, May 7.
Mr Theodore is sailing on the 14th for the Continent. He explained that be contemplated entering Federal politics before leaving Australia, but delayed the announcement, because he felt morally obliged: to settle the loan. He regarded himself as politically responsible for the pastoralist legislation wbich antagonised London financiers in 1920 and compelled him to resort to New York for money. It was unfair to leave his successor to shoulder the responsibilities. He had determined, therefore, not to leave State politics until Queensland's credit was absolutely re-established on the London market. The result, of the last loan demonstrated that beyond a doubt; therefore he was freed.
