PATEENA HITS WHARF.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The I'ateona dropped anchor when herthing at Oneltungu. Apparently the anchor failed to hold. Owing to the strong Hood tide the steamer hit a corner of the wharf, and lifted out of the water bodily, three heavy piles bound together wiih iron hoops, and Wrecked the stringers and wharf decking m the vicinity. The Pateena was considerably damaged. An iron plate on the starboard side was ripped about 15ft. m length, as if cut with a knife. Iron stanchions were buckled or broken. The Pateeua's departure for Wellington wa>delayed for temporary repairs. .
