AIR SERVICE HAS BUSY NIGHT
'Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Reuter's Telegram.) LONDON, Sept. 17. The Air. Minister reports: On the night of the 15th-16th our aeroplanes i heavily and repeatedly attacked four enemy 'aerodromes, with excellent results, started four fires, wrecked three enemy machines on the ground, demolished two hangars, directly hit two other hangars, hit a, transport convoy four times, bombed' railways at Metz Sablons, - and caused a fire. .We *uccesgfully- attacked railway junctions at Mainz, and docks and sidings at Karlsruhe with : good results on both targets. There 'Were seventeen direct hits at Karlsruhe, where 3£ tons .were dropped. A 'total of 350 bombs, weighing 16£ tons, was dropped. All our machines returned.
