ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. At the Police Court, William Tynan was charged with the attempted murder of , his daughter Kvelyn, whom he waylaid when she, was leaving school, and cut her throat with a razor. The prisoner sat through the proceedings unconcernedly, as .having apparently only a spectator's intt.re's't. m the evidence, though he occasionally displayed signs of nervous stress. Detective- MicMiahon stated that the prisoner, when arrested, expressed a desii'e to be hanged without delay. Mrs Tynan stated that "her husband had threatened her previously with a razor, but she had .never heard him threaten her children. The husband had been drinking to excess. Tynan, when- asked to plead, remained silent. He was committed for trial.
