(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. At the Supreme Court, reference was made to the late (Colonel W. K. Bloomiield by Bench and liar. Mr Justice Cooper -said that Colonel Blooiiifield was a very, old friend of his. Colonel Bloom, held had earned the respect and affection of all with whom he came m contact. He had the affection, goodwill, and respect of all members of the community. He had taken his share of public work, and he wa°< an experienced, useful, and leading officer of the territorial forces. ' '
Miss \V. Tiffen, of Napier, sister of Mrs W. D. Lyanar, atid Mips Fanny Preece, . sister of Mrs H. N- Lvsnar, also left Auckland m the s.s. Niagara with tho Bloomfielda. _ They were', to have visited Niagara falls on the way Home, and a-s no word has been received from them since they announced their' arrival at Honolulu, it is feared Uiey might have been on the ill-fated .vessel.
