"Zika, the Queen of the Gipsies," is a most remarkable film and full of adventures and exciting situations. Some of the farm hands fall in with Zika and her maidens, and attempt rough pleasantries', but they find it costs them dear. They carry the tale of their woes to- the farmer, and; the police break in upon the gipsies' camp, and AA-ould arrest the queen. There is a fierce tussle, resulting in the capture of some of" the gipsies. Zika, to be revenged on the : tarm-cv, embitters Darrias against | Lucenette's lover, and they quarrel' outside an inn. There is an- exciting chase in Avhich the hunted succeeds in escaping by di\ing into the Avater from a very high bridge. Darrias again seeks tucenette, and remonstrates with her, ut the interview is interrupted by the appearance of the farmer, 'who in a rage draws a reA'olver and shoots the unAA'.lcome . lover. Staggering along, wounded, Darrias falls on they path by tlie riverside, is there discovered by Zika, carried . by her, men into the gipsy camp, Avhere. he is nursed and restored. The herdsman and Gipsy Queen plot to' cany off Lucenette, and Avhilst the farmer's daughter is riding one day, she is pursued by the gipsies, overtaken, and clicked from the saddle. This provides a very cleA'er riding episode. A j great diyo off a bridge and further startling and dramatic scenes make the I programme one above the ordinary, and . piHrons should avail themseh-es of an ! opportunity- of seeing it. The plan is at Lucas', prices being as usual.
