» The band benefit takes place to-night, when an array of leading Jocal artists will assist. The programme is a line one, and a packed house is assured. Tickets have been going off well, and those who do not get there early may miss a seat. The f uJl programme is advertised m the columns devoted to that special purpose. A most enjoyable night is anticipated m the way of entertainment, andrthe. programme indicates that expectations will be realised to-night. Artists such ras the following, who have, already been heard to advantage, should be sufficient guarantee m itself that affairs aTe going; to be merry : ; Misses Ina "Sweet, Jacobs, and Spurdle, Messrs Teat, Stonson, Bteathcote, 'Baylies, Tarr, Downie, : Every , and' McGlymont (m duets), Randall, Zachariahy; and 'McGib,-^ bon, 1 with selections by the City Band. A sketch by M* Geo. H. Tarr aiid Messrs P. Andrews, J Samson, and Randall will conclude- an entertainment which should please everyone. A special feature will be the duet from. the "Geisha," by Miss Sweet and' Mr Bayliss. This item was much appreciated m. the production of the "Geisha" by the Gisborne Operatic ■Society on their last appearance here. To-morrow night "The Queen of the Gipsies" will claim the attention of pic-ture-goers. ..■
