Iri the leading picture, "In the Springtime of . Life,' 1 there is unfolded One of those ~ powerful' human stories Which grip the heart-strings and sends home a lessoiti to everyone. Gerda is left alone with her distinguished . father, And <he leaves her for safekeeping^with a woman who' turns out to be unscrupulous. • She is alone m the streets, sinking under" her weight of care, when a young man rescues her from her horrible impending fate.. She studies, and, with the aid of her entrancing beauty, becomes a theatrical star. / She is eventually discovered and honored by her heart-broken father. The Lubin Company score a triumph m the production of "The Miser," which will also be shown. This tells -the story of a son's dishonor, m his father's eyes, because "he loves a factory girl.' Love m a cottage, however, does not provide. the Wherewithal to keep body and soul together or the orUina-ry of life.. The man returns to take up his fathers fortune, but the son, finding his miserLy parent doting over the sons boyish foys, a reconciliation follows.
