AIR FLEET TO PROTECT THEM. LONDON, May 28. Speaking at the christening of the Bleriot monoplane m which Mr Hamel recently flew from Dover to Cologne, and w.hich the Imperial Air Fleet Committee has presented to New Zealand, Lord Desborough explained that the object of the gift was to encourage the dominions -to start an air fleet of their own to protect the oversea trade routes. Sir Joseph Ward ■ described the occasion as an historic one.
