At the Methodist Conference, it was resolved to .set up a "Welfare of the ( burch Committee" to collect informai..i as to the spiritual state of the U. irch, the difficulties with which it is coniYon'ed at the present' day, and the most «.lf r.Awe modes bf meeting them. The report of foreign missions stated that work had steadily progressed during the year. The financial returns showed another i-ecord, the amount raised being £3203. an increase of £350 on, the previous year. _ ' An organised spiritual campaign has been formulated for next year by the Methodist Church m New Zealand to celebrate the entrance of the Church upon independence from Australia and the consummation of the Methodist union m the Dominion. The conference confirmed the arrangements to*-' the campaign.
