AGAINST THE DEFENCE ACT.

The teaetaers and officers of the Richmond Wesleysn Methodist Sunday School pa-esed the following resolutions: (1) This meeting of the Richmond Sunday School tsachers desires the Revs. AbjOßfjaethy, Burton and Isitt and Mr J. J. rfealier to call the attention of the New Zealand Methodist Conference t.o the fact that the boys are again being imprisoned m gaol with hard labor for non-compliance, with the' Defence Act, and to urge the Conference to at once ns-e its influence to prevent further imprisonment, and to have the Defence Act repealed {\ (2) this' -meeting ■ farther considers that the Defence Act, ,'as at present' constituted, and the proceedings now being taken under it, are a menace to the young people of the Dominion, and if allowed to continue wiU certainly negative to -a-fvery great extent the work of our ''Sunday' schoojs /hid ...'lurches."
