.. \ HASTINGS, this day. The '(eatiH'e most, deserving of special commftndatioil \at the Hawke's Bay autu-*"*ffc..show was the grand exhibits oi apples ,-"" peaches, and grapes from the Arataki farm. The value of the work done by thie. station was clearly demonstrated by the interest shown by the general public m this display. Mr D, Hay, of Auckland, judge of" fruit and horticulture sections, complimented Mr West, acting manager, and' said it was the most comprehensive and instructive exhibit he had ever had before him Visitors expressed great appreciation of the Department's work. The improvement m the orchardists* fruit exhibits; this year, compared with other years, testified to the commercial value ex-i"*-rimental stations are to the fruitgrowin : industry of New Zealand.
