(Received January 19, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, January 18. During a gale in Britain there were numerous fatalities, and much damage was done to harbor works and pingA German steamer was wrecked on the Goodwin Sands, ahd the Ramsgate lifeboat gallantly rescued twenty men. A large unknown steamer was seen to turn turtle and founder off Pettrshead in a terrific gale. It was impossible to help the crew. Other > wrecks have .occurred on all parts of the coast. . v (Received January 19, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, anuary 18. A lifeboat . followed the steamer Wistow Hall for five hours, but the tide was like a maelstrom and dashed the Wistow Hall on to the Bullers of Buchan Rocks. Four of the crew, including the captain, were saved, but fifty-three, mostly Lascars, were drowned.
