MR DEAKIN TEMPORARILY RETAINS OFFI,CE. (Press Assn.—By Telegraph.—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, April 13. Mv Deakin has decided to retain office until the tariff is finished, or perhaps until the conclusion of the session.
(Received April 14, 8.29 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 14. Tlie Herald's Melbourne correspondent reports that Mr Deakin yielded to the pressure of his colleagues, retaining office when lite House meets on Wednesday. A postponement of the motion for a Royal Commission on the Post Office will be asked until the tariff is passed. If that is not postponed Mr Deakin will resign.
