REFUSAL TO WORK WITH NONUNIONISTS. (Press Assn.— By Telegraph.— Copyright ) SYDNEY, April 13. There are • new developments in connection with the strike. The seamen of the Illawarra and Newcastle Coriipanies refused to work 'with non-unionists, and left the vessels.
(Received April 14, 9.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 14. The strike has been settled. The Sea. men's Union agreed to coastal shipowners having a month to arrange for all- nonunionist, crews being .brought together into six steamers. Y In , the meantime unionists and non-unionists work together in the vessels.
Trouble also: cropped up at Newcastle. Thirty-three out of 38 non-unionists employed on theY Newcastle-Hunter River Company struck, on tfieO ground that under the new agreement they will be paid casual rates, in stead of weekly wages. Eleven returned to work, and the places of others were filled by. unionists.
