LAWRENCE, lust night

The Prime Minister, who reached Lawrence to-day, will also visit Roxburgh and Tapunii this week. He will proceed to- InvercargiH on Wednesday night, and on Saturday will go through by. train and steamer to Wcllirgton, which he expects to reach on Sunday. DUNEDIN, last night. At Balclutha to-day a deputation waited on the Hon. K. McNab, with a. request that the Government sliould acquire Clitlon and' Otanomomo estates for closer settlement. The former estate comprises 15,675 acres, and the latter 5406 acres. The deputation stated that Clifton would settle from 70 to 80 farmers, wliile Otanomomo would provide land for about 360 The Minister admitted there was a very keen demand for land in the srtxuth.
