THE BLACKBALL STRIKE.
(Per Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, lu.vt night. The Wharf Laborers' Union, at a meeting on Sunday night, decided to continue tlicir support to the wives and 'children of the Blackball strikers. Tlie meeting -\\as addressed by Messrs Rogers and Goldsmith, of Blackball. A meeting of the Tyneside miners is called for Friday to ic-con.sidcr their action on Saturtkv of withdrawing support^ Irom the' miners at Blackball. One of the strikcis, writing to the Grey Argus regarding Saturday's mecting.'at ■BlackttE.fi, states that the miners v.* were told before the meeting thafe tliey were going to get 33r, a week for eaich man, 10s for wife, and 5s for each child. "Their desire to have money without
working wes too strong, and consequently the opportunity for a settlement passed, and wo are going to live on the money of others. 'The meeting passed off nicely, and wp all returned later and received *our weekly allowance, some of us up to the tune of £4 55." WELLINGTON, last night. Mr Pritcliard, the delegate of the Blackball , Miners' Union, left to-night for Christchurch to we Mr G. G. Stead in connection with .the strike in- the Blackball mine.
