CRICKET.
AUSTRALIANS V. YORKSHIRE. London, June 15. Twenty thousand people were present at the cricket match to-day. The play at the start was of the slowest description, Donovan scoring only four in an hour. Gregory played a dashing innings, and knocked up his score, which included 6 fouis, in an hour and a-half. With Hill he put on 48 for the seventh wicket. The fielding of the Home team was smart. Yorkshire started forcing the game, and ran up 30 in half an hour, when Trott put on Jones, who dismissed five for 28. Denton was twice missed at the wickets. The Australians' first innings closed for. 143. The chief scorers were : Donovan 14, Giffen 11, Gregory 59, Hill 17, Trumble 17. Hurst took 5 wickets for 40, Wainwright 2 for 23, Jackson 2 for 30. In the first innings Yorkshire had lost 7 ■wickets for 96 when stumps were drawn. The chief scores were : Jaokßon 20, Brown i 12, Hurst 7, Denton (not out) 29.
June 16. — A severe thunderstorm, accompanied by heavy rain, swept over the ground at Leeds, and the match has not been resumed up to the present.
