Wairoa, to-day.
At the County Council meeting a tender was leb for Wairoa bridge tolls to J. H. Smith for L? 66 per annum, and for Mohaka bridge tolls at LlB6, and Frasertown ferry at L 8 10s per month, all substantial increases. Tenders were accepted for bridges on the road to the hob springs, and formation of the Mahia-Paritu stock road at LlOl. The Native Land Court opened yesterday, before Judge Butler. Four hundred oases are set down. Mr K. White, an old resident, formerly poßtmißter and telegraphist at Clyde, died in the hospital on Friday night. The interment took place on Sunday, when there was a large funeral. There was a slight improvement in the bar last night. No boat has been iv here for a fortnight or more.
