N.S.W. PARLIAMENT.

Sidney, Jan. 20. —Government intend to proceed with business on Tuesday as though nothing had happened. Although the hostile amendment of Mr Reid was only defeated ,by one vote, a number of those who are familiar with the state of affairs, declare ; that Government possess a larger majority on questions of general policy. In an interview Sir Henry Parkes said the Ministry all through had an unworthy career, and had disregarded the majority, of the Assembly, Which men of honor would have considered sufficient to put them out of office. Mr Reid Btates that if it is true, as currently reported, that while the vote was pending the Minister of Works informed a deputation of ironworkers that if the amendment was defeated £189t000 for iron works would be thrown in their way, and that members were approached by those comprising the deputation, who vehemently urged them to sink their convictions and support the Government, it was a stupendous piece of undisguised political bribery, and degrading to all concerned.
