[Br Telegbaph.— Press Association,] WELLINGTON, To-day. The dairy produce shipped home by the "Rimutaka at this port consisted of 317 tons of butter and 3S tons of cheese. The Auckland and Wellington portions comprised 4G and 51 tons respectively, making a total of 452 tons from the colony. The Times estimates that from the returns of receipts and expenditure for the nine months of the present financial year there will be a surplus of between and £290,000 ou March 31." Some 490 selectors Have taken up 25,844 acres for cash, 348 took 79,705 acres with right of purchase, and 716 took up 160,128 under perpetual lease. The figures show an advance on last year.
