CRICKET.
AUCKLAND V. NEW SOUTH WALES. Auckland, to-day. — The cricket match New South Wales v, Auckland commenced at ten this morning. Notwithstanding the heavy rain yesterday the ground was in excellent trim. New South Wales batted first, and Moore and Cowley faced the bowling of Neill and Kallender. Cowley was clean bowled by Kallender at seven. 1 — 7 — 11. Walford filled the gap, and- when at a score of 32 C. Hay took Mills' place. At 40 Luudon replaced Kalleuder. Walford had a narrow escape of being run out, and shortly succumbed to a full pitch from Lundon. McKenzie filled the vacancy, and runs came freely. The score at the luncheon adjournment was two wickets for 70. Later. — McKenzie was out l.b.w. to Neill, 3 — l0 — 87. Saustin, the next man, was caught by Fowke, 4—5 — 98. A. Noble succumbed to a ball from Kallender, 5 — 2 — 100. Gould, the next man, was despatched by Neill, 6— 9— 118. E. Noble scored. Then Moore was caught by Yates, 7—68 — 136. Luncheon.
