COUNTY COUNCIL.
The following business was iransacted after we went to press yesterday : — Cr King proposed to call tenders for carting stone as soon as the roads were tit from the quarry, Patutahi. —Agreed to call tenders for next meeting, the stone to go to the Oisborne riding. Cr Orr asked that any available money for the Waiapu road be spent on it. The Clerk stated that there was £28 in hand.
—Agreed to spend that amount. Cr McPhail stated that on the Waimata road there were many pipe culverts broken, and the maintenance contractors should put them in repair. Cr Orr suggested the placing of fascines at the Kaittsratahi ford. If .something was not done no wool would be brought across the river this season. — Engineer to spend up to L 4. In answer to Cr Coleman the Engineer stated that tenders would be out next meeting for the Wainui road.
